Several places are often mentioned as the best place to live in the Dominican Republic. Each town is unique and intriguing.

Santo Domingo is rich in history. It is the city of firsts. The first place in the America’s that Christopher Columbus landed. Established in 1496, you will find the first hospital, church and school. If you are looking for fast-pace urban lifestyle with easy access to services, healthcare, cultural attractions and shopping, Santo Domingo may fulfill your desires.

Punta Cana is home to the Blue Hole (Hoya Azul) and just one of the natural wonders that you will see in the Dominican Republic. A popular tourist destination, it is a haven to over 50 mega-resorts. Punta Cana has everything you need to have an exotic daily life. You will enjoy 62 miles of coastline with beaches from north to south and temperatures in the upper 70s. Numerous activities like snorkeling, windsurfing, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, banana boat rides and a host of other water activities are yours to enjoy each and everyday.

Puerto Plata is another favorite tourist destination is best known for its beaches. A modern day location for numerous beach resorts. Puerto Plata is also part of American history because it is  where Christopher Columbus landed his three ships in 1492. If you remember your Christopher Columbus history, that was the Nina, Pinta, and the Santa Maria. The backdrop of Puerto Plata is an old colonial 16th century era with homes and other buildings dating far back as 1577.

Samana is home to thousands of humpback whales, beautiful waterfalls and secluded beaches. It is here where you get a natural experience of the Dominican Republic. Los Haitises National Park is located here. The park covers an area of 618 square miles and contains the jungle that is used to film the infamous Jurassic Park movies.
